Alberta King was the mother of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on a Sunday, June 30th 1974 she was slain at the Ebenezer Church in Atlanta, Georgia as she sat at the organ.
A 21-year-old black man pulled out two pistols and he began his shooting spree killing
Mother King and another woman.
Since that horrible act so many years ago today the Ebenezer Church in Atlanta now has armed security and undercover police that protect the church from those bent on doing harm to those of us who wish to worship in peace and love.
I pray for America and my hope is we will one day realize:
“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten we belong to each other.”
