“They are able because they think they are able.”
— Publius Vergil<

EGO- self-esteem.

One of the three divisions of the psyche in psychoanalytic theory that serves as the organized
conscious mediator between the person and reality especially by acting both in perception of and
adaptation to reality.

I argue:

"It is better to be envied than pitied."
–Herodotus ( Greek Historian)

Your self-esteem will determine if you are the person pitied or the person envied.
One of the most popular theories of philosophy says the foundation of knowledge lie
in self-sense experience.

Rene Descartes the great French philosopher points out in his writings:

"The things we conceive very clearly and distinctly are all true."

Plato believed that the world we seem to observe around us is an illusion.
True reality is most often hidden; we are trapped inside a world of shadows.
The real world is hidden from us and we never see our true self.

I'm reminded of the first actor, Thespis, who was a member of the chorus and one day
Thespis began to speak to the audience breaking away from the chorus and hence you have the very
first actor in recorded history.
The EGO is what pushed Thespis to step outside the box and take his place as the star of the show.
Is what Thespis did a vain thing? Was he wrong for wanting more than just being a chorus member?
I think not!

I argue, if you want to be great you must have a massive EGO!
Yes! I did say massive…Hitler, Ali, George Washington Carver are all important
historical figures and all of whom held themselves in high esteem.

The study of philosophy is such a main component of my life and today I find myself always
going back to revisit Plato's Cave Allegory.

"See human beings as though they were in an underground cave-like dwelling with it's
entrance, a long one, open to light across the whole width of the cave.
They are in it from childhood with their legs and necks in bonds so they are fixed,
unable because the bond to turn their heads all the way round."
—Plato, The Republic

Recall yourself as a child.
How many times has an adult told you to stop?
Stop exploring.
Stop moving.
Stop talking.
And even, stop thinking!
Let the child explore their genius!
Every new born child comes into the world a genius; the mind is open to all possibilities.
Despite many qualitative difference–now you are older, bigger, and presumably, wiser– you are
still the same individual as you were a child.
You still have the capacity for genius.

Did you know the human brain can learn to speak over 40 languages and still have room to
learn and grow? Yes, you have the power to speak over forty languages fluently.
Only the person with a massive EGO could readily accept this concept offered.
The person with low self-esteem would think I'm crazy for making such a claim.
I, though have discovered, learned well, never, ever argue with a fool.

I shall take my leave now, but before I go, let me leave you with my favorite quote:
