“Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon,
and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys.” –Exodus 40: 34
I am more than certain we live in a broken world and a very dark cloud of violence continues to hang
over humanity. What has happened to the man who has the capacity to kill over 80 people,
people who have never even dreamed of harming him or could ever even conceive one man could be so evil, except the monster Adolph Hitler.
This month of July,in the year 2016 is proving to be more of a broken world than I could ever imagine.
I remain lost to understand the hate and evil that persist.
God has given humanity so many wonderful gifts that when we awake to the morning sun, we should rejoice and be happy that we are alive.
Yet, there are those who have selected Satan as their father and master, these agents of evil wake up each day and their only ambition is havoc and death. I have never been so depressed as I am today.
I pray for all the innocent children of the world who simply want to be children and play with each other and live in peace and harmony.
The revelation we live under a cloud of violence hit me the hardest on September 11th 2001 as I saw people jumping from atop the World Trade Center in New York City. I was sick for months and found myself praying a lot more.
What happened in France recently is beyond my comprehension.
What happens to our psyche when each day we see more killings and the next murder even
more gruesome and grotesque than the last? Surely we are being deprived of total soundness of mind.
To mentally process such ugly death everyday is just not mentally healthy.
What does an environment of violence do to the psyche of a child who see’s the horror of death each day? Recently, while reading ‘The Wall Street Journal’ I read a story that literally broke my heart and did also fill my eyes with tears.
A Chicago man and his two daughters, ages three and ten were killed in their home while asleep at 2:20 a.m.
I am not ashamed to say that I could not live in the city of Chicago under no circumstances!
How can one have soundness of mind when you are faced with a new surge of violence each day of the year; last year in Chicago there were 490 homicides. And since January 1, 2016 there has been 349 homicides in the city of Chicago. The numbers here do not bode well for the poor children of Chicago.
I pray something is done to correct what is being done to the children.
How do we protect ourselves and our families in such a violent environment?
May I suggest pray often to the God that made you and ask Him to send the
Holy Spirit to protect you and your family.
In the Bible, in Exodus, we are told the story of “The Passover” where the people of Israel
placed blood on the post outside their dwelling.
Let us look at Exodus 12:23
FOR THE LORD WILL PASS THROUGH TO SMITE THE EGYPTIANS; AND WHEN HE SEETH BLOOD UPON THE
LINTEL, AND ON THE TWO SIDE POSTS, THE LORD WILL PASSOVER THE DOOR, AND WILL NOT SUFFER
THE DESTROYER TO COME INTO YOUR HOUSES TO SMITE YOU.
Friends, pray, pray and ask God to send the Holy Spirit to protect you and family from
senseless violence and death at the hands of the evil ones among us.
We live in a broken world of violence and yet we need not be broken for if God is with us and we with Him, we will be protected and kept safe as the people during the days of Moses.
I pray with sincerity that each one finds peace and comfort in our Father who is in heaven.
