BRAIN AWESOME!

“When everything is easy one quickly gets stupid.”
–Maxim Gorky

It’s said most people only use about 10% of their brains their entire life!
How very sad for those people, sadly, I know far too many folks who actually
use a fraction of their brain.

Your brain is the most complex organ on the planet earth, with the spinal cord comprises
the central nervous system and coordinates all nerve-cell activity. In short, the brain together with your spinal cord controls almost every process of your body, from breathing and blinking to reading the most recent essay by Charles Micheaux.

Smile.

The brain is truly awesome, for it is home to one hundred billion nerve-cells or neurons.
The brain makes your thoughts, memories, hopes and dreams. The brain also monitors and regulates
bodily processes such as heart rate and breathing, and coordinates every movement you make.
Each neuron of your brain will make contact with tens of thousands of others, via tiny structures called synapses.

We really are “BRAIN AWESOME” … our brains form over one million new connections every second!
Your brain never sleeps—in fact it’s always running and in a single day your mind processes
60,000 thoughts in one day.

Facts about the brain:

The adult brain weighs close to 3 pounds and the adult human brain is about 2% of the body weight.
Neurons (Brain-Cells) generate signals that travel along their axons. When a pulse of electricity reaches a junction called synapse, it causes a brain-cell transmitter chemical to be released,
which binds receptors on other cells and thereby changes their electrical activity.

Your brain is truly awesome!
