#Atlanta : Pit Bull threat to community still goes unchecked

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter.” –Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Sadly in Atlanta there was yet another Pit Bull attack in the same neighborhood as that horrible attack last Tuesday in which a six-year old boy was killed and a five-year old girl was severely injured and in the hospital. When oh, when are the city leaders going to stand up and take action to curtail these Pit Bull attacks?

Did you know…every 17 days a Pit Bull kills someone in America?

Let me say that again, a Pit Bull kills an American every 17 days;
of these deaths 51% involve a family member of the Pit Bull household. What is happening today in Southwest Atlanta is a great blight on our city and something must be done to correct this very serious problem of Pit Bull attacks.

On Saturday, past a pit Bull charged a man and someone called 911 and Fulton County Animal Control and it took over an hour for Fulton County Animal Control to arrive on the scene; the Pit Bull was long gone. Last night, another man was attacked by two Pit Bulls and the man was seriously injured and rushed to Grady Hospital.
No leadership person has stood up to speak to the community and assure the people what is being done to correct the problem. This in my view is a very, very sorry state of affairs that leaves one in utter disgust!

We, those of us who love the city of Atlanta need to hold accountable our leaders and make sure that they in turn are doing all in their power to protect our children, our seniors, and our families from these killer dogs called Pit Bulls.
